⏰ Start Time: 08.49 | Finish Time: 14.30
After a splendid day yesterday with the boys and Adam and a lovely evening meal in Porthleven—I set off this morning for the penultimate stage of this incredible journey.
Today's walk from Crowntown to Penzance was mostly straightforward, with few obstacles and a good pace kept throughout. The route took me primarily along quiet country lanes, and I avoided all footpaths after yesterdays experiences.
I took a long, leisurely lunch at a café on the seafront in Marazion, treating myself to my second gluten-free pizza of the trip, accompanied by two cups of coffee.
From Marazion, the path to Penzance followed the South West Coast Path—wedged between the shoreline and the railway line. The views of St Michael’s Mount were ever-changing with the shifting clouds. making for some captivating photographs.
Upon reaching Penzance, I navigated my way to the youth hostel with the trusty guidance of Professor Google.
Jacky and Nathan, fellow walkers who I’ve shared parts of this journey with over the past three months were also at the hostel
After checking in and enjoying a much-needed shower, I was joined by my friends Kay, and David and Jenny Bannister, who had travelled all the way from Oxfordshire to be here at the end of the trip.
All of us together with Nathan’s father George, we shared stories, beers, and food at The Lugger pub on the Penzance seafront.
Tomorrow, the final day. Jacky, Nathan, and I will walk together to Land’s End. After 90 days on the road, countless miles, shared moments, and life lived one step at a time we’ll celebrate the end of a memorable journey.
