Supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK:
John o’Groats to Land’s End
The Twelve Hundred Mile Trek
Mission Accomplished!
I hiked over 1,200 miles down the length of Britain, from John o'Groats to Lands End.
The Challenge
Four years ago my wife, Susan, died of Alzheimer's disease, after a long and brutal struggle. I'm passionate about raising awareness and funding for Alzheimer's Research UK, so I took on another challenge:
This spring I hiked 1,254 miles down the length of Britain, from John o'Groats to Lands End, to raise money to fight this terrible disease.
The hike wasn’t easy (particularly at my age!) but I was determined to do it.
Why It Matters
Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity. They exist for a cure.
Your donation helps their scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.

BBC Radio Cornwall interview
Julie Skentelbery from Radio Cornwall was kind enough to invite me onto her morning show to talk about what I’m doing and why this cause is so important.
