Day 75: West Bagborough to Roadwater

📏 Distance: 14.80 miles (23.82 km)

☀️ Weather: Dry and warm all day, with a threat of rain

🕤 Start Time: 09:20 | Finish Time: 16:04

Today started not with my boots on the road, but in front of a camera. Nathan, a friendly camper I met last night, kindly offered to shoot a short video about my journey. He runs a local gym and wanted to share the story on their Facebook page—an incredibly generous gesture, and I hope the video inspires a few more folks to get behind the cause.

The route today was mostly along quiet country lanes, meandering through the rolling hills of Somerset with occasional glimpses of the coast. The scenery was peaceful and the villages picturesque…

Around lunchtime, I stopped in the village of Monksilver where I encountered another act of kindness. Although the local pub was closed, the landlady came out and offered me a cold orange and lemonade—just what I needed on a warm day.

The afternoon was spent on bridle paths and the Coleridge Way—thankfully well-maintained, which made a refreshing change after the few rough days on the Macmillan Way.

Adam met me in Roadwater, and from there we drove to our campsite in Porlock. Tomorrow, he’ll drop me back in Roadwater so I can finish the stretch to Porlock before taking a well-earned two-day rest. Hard to believe we’re approaching the final leg of this incredible journey.
